Chinnaswamy Stadium is known for a great knock by the batting Maestro Sunil M Gavaskar. In 1987 against a determined Pakistan and a treacherous Pitch Gavaskar got down here to play perhaps the greatest innings of his career. Gavaskar stood ground. His dogged 96 could be easily one of the greatest innings ever to be played by any batsman in the test cricket’s history. India lost but Gavaskar gained batting immortality.
